What you can get

We already mentioned that:
  • You can win a Wacom Bamboo Fun if one of your designs receive the most votes.
  • If one or more of your building sets are selected we will acknowledge you in our app and on this website by presenting your bio as well as the selected designs.
  • For every building set that we put in an app, you will receive 2% of our earnings for that app.

Before talking about more details, first a broad outline of our plan:
  • We want to bring out various themed versions of Construct-O-Set for both iPhone (including iPod Touch) and iPad by November.
  • We want to use the designs submitted to the competition as content.
  • We want to add some more features to the app, like possibly some physics and interactions between parts of a building set.
  • We want to let the designers whose designs gets voted in, also earn part of the income for the specific theme app that his/her design is in (2% of our earnings for that app per design, to be exact)
  • If a specific designer submits enough good designs (i.e. around 20), we will bring out a version of our app containing all of the designs submitted by him/her, basically making that designer the theme of the app.
  • We want to give exposure to the designers of the selected building set designs both in the app his/her design is in, as well as in a section on our website that will be added.

Win


  • The creator of the design that get the most votes in September, will win a Wacom Bamboo Fun. We will organise the delivery, or else the winner can choose to take an Amazon gift voucher equal to the same value that the Bamboo Fun would cost.
  • A random voter will also win a prize (to be announced closer to September).

Earn


Now to talk about earnings.
  • We are planning to sell the new versions of Construct-O-Set for $1.99.
  • Of this, we earn 70% = $1.393 per app.
  • And of this $1.393, 2% is equal to $0.027, or about 3 cents.
  • Thus, if we sell e.g. 10,000 copies of the Construct-O-Set version that contains your design, we will get $13930 from Apple
  • And you will get $270 of that for each building set you have in that app.
  • We plan to have 20 building sets per app,
  • Thus a total of 40% of each themed version goes to the designers.
  • Thus if you have provided all 20 designs for a specific app version, then you will get $1.99 x 70% x 40% = $0.557 per app
  • Giving a total of $5570 if 10,000 copies are sold.
  • If we sell 100,000 copies, it is 10 times that, etc.

Note: the number of copies sold indicated above is only illustrative. We of course are hoping to sell at least a million copies, but we cannot make any promises. However, we can promise that we will market Construct-O-Set as much as we can, thereby enhancing sales.
Another Note: The price of $1.99 per app might change, we still need to determine the best price. Currently our thinking is to ask a bit more for the iPad version.

Legal Note

If your building set design(s) gets voted in, we will first sign a contract with you to ensure the details of how the earnings work and gets paid is well defined. We will not use any designs without a legal contract being in place between ourselves and the designer.
